A Wedding - Part 2

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

As we walked down King Street towards the reception hall, we looked over and saw,

ourselves.

A photo that is on our wall, a photo from our wedding.
Except here it is huge. And it is hanging under the Riviera Theater on King Street.

Hubby and I laughed, looked at each other in amazement, and laughed some more. How did they get this? Why are we advertising for Charleston Place? We didn't have our wedding or reception there (though it is nice . . . ) How long has it been here? This is crazy! This is too funny!

We stopped two girls walking by. "Hey! Would you do us a huge favor? Would you mind taking our picture? This is us!"
They were good sports, and we gave them a silly story to tell whoever they were on their way to meet.

We still don't know how our nearly seven year old photo made it's way into the local advertising scene, but that's okay. We think it is cool, especially since we saw it together, on a night celebrating love and marriage. It was the absolute icing on the cake.

P.S. As I mentioned before, the reception we attended was fab-u-lous. My favorite part was the high school pep band, which greeted the guests outside the reception hall. Yep. You could feel the bass of the trombones as you walked down the street. They danced and played. It was awesome. You can hear a bit of them here.

P.S.S. If you haven't already discovered man's greatest invention, the iPhone, let me point out two things. (1) All the wedding post photos were taken on an iPhone, and (2) when I needed a mirror during the reception, I downloaded an "app" which turned my iPhone into a mirror. Seriously. I'm wondering how I ever lived without it.

  4. Well, this is all just TOO exciting and has made my day! (And my day needs some making since so far it has been filled with a sick 18 month old and a disobedient 3 year old. Not that I'm complaining of anything. . . )

Thank you all for the comments and Jeff - we are tickled that somebody, somewhere, chose our picture. Neat.

Oh, and Sharon - nice to meet you! Absolutely loved St. Mary's, and can't wait to visit your blog!
