Two Totally Unrelated Things

Kind of like this. But don't they look cute together?

(1) My friend, Liz, had this quote on her blog recently:

Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see. ~Neil Postman, The Disappearance of Childhood (introduction), 1982

See where that takes you.

It's been on my mind since I read it weeks ago. It makes me want to work a lot harder as a parent, and it kind of bums me out.

But speaking of hard work . . . (see how well I transition?)

(2) I've decided to make this a five-days-a-week blog. I know. I'm crazy. But here's the deal - it's gonna be easy. Tuesdays will be "Tuesdays To Do" where I list something that has been on my To Do List forever, or has just been floating around in my head forever. It may be something important, or silly. Either way, it will be one of those things that someone else mentions and you find yourself saying, "I've been meaning to do that!" I'm hoping that by sharing, I will actually get whatever it is accomplished, and that you readers may chime in with suggestions ("I just did that and the result was fabulous!") or similar goals ("Oh, that reminds me, I need to do X, too!") It will be sooo exciting.

And then to hold us accountable, Thursdays will be "Tally Time" - because I love alliteration. And lists. And parenthesis. (Can you tell?) Thursday's Tally Time will be the moment of confession: did I get it done? Did you? Did I abandon the idea for something better - suggested by a reader, no doubt. I don't know what will happen, but the suspense is killing me.

So, tune in next week - I'll be here!
