The Encouragement Cards

I remember exactly where I was on September 11, 2001, when the world changed. It was (and is) so discouraging. I think this verse is helpful, even now:

I will remember them, and my soul is downcast within me. Yet this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:20-23

Those words bring encouragement. And even though Saturday will bring sobering thoughts, and maybe even some discouragement, there is something to look forward to: Sunday. Did you know that Sunday, September 12th, is the National Day of Encouragement?

I did not, until I read about it here. Intrigued, I signed up for the free cards, and they arrived earlier this week. I'm sending one to a friend, and I'm going to blog about it on Sunday. Come back then, and hopefully feel, encouraged.
