Wednesday's Word

Trying something new here.

I use my Bible's concordence a lot. It is great, because you can pick a word, and then see what the Word of God has to say. This method is no substitute for knowing the Bible backwards and forwards, but maybe it is one way of getting there.

So, I propose that on Wednesdays, I pick a word, and share some verses that speak to it. My desire is to spend more time in God's Word, and hopefully inspire you to do the same. If you like this "Wednesday's Word" idea, let me know. Give it a few weeks, and we will see where it goes. If this is a terrible idea, let me know that too. (But be nice!)

Okay, here we go.

Moses answered (Pharaoh), "We will go with our young and old, with our sons and daughters, and with our flocks and herds, because we are to celebrate a festival to the Lord." Exodus 10:9

They will celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness. Psalm 145:7

Let's have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found. So they began to celebrate. Luke 15:23(b)-24

Just so you know, "celebrate" wasn't a totally random choice. Sometimes it is nice to remember that God is wants us to feel joy, and that He find us (the prodigal sons!) worthy of celebration.

  1. Just found your blog off of MOB society. Soap and water - hahahahaha!!!! How could I have forgotten that? Just wanted to let you know that was perfect...

Glad you mentioned "joy" today. It's dreary over here and we have an insane couple of days today, it's good to remember JOY and CELEBRATE the little blessings God gives us...which is a LOT.

  2. LOVE this idea, Courtney! A great way to be in God's word. Sometimes it can be overwhelming, but this is such a simple way to learn more about HIS wonderful ways! SO glad you stopped by my blog to say hello and for entering in the giveaway. I look forward to following along in your journey and to becoming blogging friends!
