skype-to-skype-calls-7.jpg

It is my first ever Works for Me Wednesday, and do you know what works for me?

Love it, love it, love it.

Hubby recently downloaded it for a business call, then convinced me to do the same. I did, and then said, "Why didn't we do this sooner?"

It is free.
You can talk to anyone, anywhere in the world.
For free.
And you can see them, too.
Did I mention, free?

Hubby often rings me on Skype during nap time and it is so nice to see his face as we trade stories about our days. I used Skype when I was in Chicago to catch up with my boys. They got to virtually meet and sing to their new cousin.

So cool.

Does Skype work for you? Is there something even better out there?

How do you like to stay in touch?

Giving Day 17 - Communication is a gift, isn't it? I'm praying that my eyes will be open to the lonely this week; to those who ache for the gift of communication. I'm praying that I will see them, and have the desire, the words, and the heart to communicate.

  1. Skype saves my sanity some weeks. My best friend is my college roommate who unforunately lives in NYC. We have children 2 months apart and are stay at home moms. We do "playdates" at least once a week so the kids can play on the floor and watch each other while we chat and usually have a naptime chat as well. I love that when her daughter sees me on the screen she gets giddy with excitement even though I have only met her in person once. It is a bond we would not have without skype.

  2. Skype has saved my sanity as well. We communicate with Stephen when he is off on the oil rig. If you need to call a land line for free you can also use google voice. Communication is a wonderful thing!
