Tuesday's To Do, is still in progress.

: Declutter

I can't fully cross it off the list yet, because I still have a few rooms to tackle. But I'm getting there, and I'm making some radical changes. For example, I cleared out and dusted (whew!) our "media cabinet" - which is really the one shelf under our enormous/piece of furniture TV. 95% of our movies are cartoons. Not surprising.

I pulled out the DVDs which are not "movies," but cartoon episodes,
and my neglected work out DVDs, and some DVDs with no home.

Then I (here's the radical part) threw away all the cases and put them in this:

Ta-Da!

Throwing those cumbersome boxes away freed up a lot of space, and the carrying case fits nicely in my newly-repurposed "work out basket."

Doesn't everyone need one of those?

What you can't see under the case is weights and bands. And motivation. Because now that it is staring me in the face all nice and organized, I actually put Jillian's yoga DVD in the machine and attempted to do most of Level 1.

Attempted. She is tough. But already I feel better, and this major decluttering push is making me mindful of anything new that I bring into the house. Will it have a place? Is it worth the space? Do I really want it?

One thing is for sure. We are set on cartoons and work out videos.

  1. Throwing things away is so freeing. how many times do we hang onto things we don't need just because we don't want to throw them away? great post (and there is no shame with attempting jillian; I had to start out with 1lbd weights. I don't know; I think I feel a little shame in that haha)

  2. I enjoy those days when I begin to get things in order, cleaning out my Wardrobe and then I take them to non profit agency so other people can use them..It goes give you a sense of helping not just yourself but you can help others because you are giving it away for free, that is why I do it.
