: Get going! {And, a giveaway}

Did you make a New Year's Resolution to get in shape?

Take care of yourself?

Make more time for you?

Me, too!

And now I've got to actually do it. Good thing I know Katie.

I met Katie a few months ago, and she is an inspiration. A lovely young Christian mother, and fit as a fiddle. She introduced me to the concept that is Go Figure. Pilates, yoga, ballet, orthopedic strengthening, stretching and girl power, all rolled into one. Yes!

I got to take a class with her, and I walked away with these thoughts:

(1) The ballet barre part made me feel like a daaaahn-cer again! (Strike a pose.)
(2) Ouch. (Gingerly move out of pose.) That kicked my fanny.
(3) But it was fun!
(4) How nice to wear my yoga pants, for something other than cleaning house.
(5) It is for women of all ages, at all fitness levels.
(6) Hmmm. Turns out, I am older than the college girls, yet not as strong as the middle school moms. Got some work to do.
(7) The studio is opening near my house. No more excuses!
(8) I think I can stick with it.
(9) I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!
(10) I really want to wear my yoga pants again.

Katie is bringing Go Figure to the Southeast - her studio opens here in Mt. Pleasant on January 15th. I've got passes for FREE classes.

  2. I usually run but we have a love/hate relationship and I can't seem to muster the energy to start back. I'm now looking for a new form of exercise that will kick this post-baby body back into shape. Pick me, pick me!!!!

  3. Can you call carrying my 23 lb. baby up and down the stairs excerise?! But in all seriousness, I am a class person. Daniel Island Hip Hop has been my recent new fad. I need accountability and I'd LOVE to try this class!

    i took two zumba classes last week, and it was the first time in a long while my work-out clothes were worn to actually work out:)

    that class sounds so fun. hope you can keep going. you're so right: we do need to take care our ourselves, too.
