: Say Thank You

I've blogged about my prayer journal before. How I write down my prayers, and check them off when they are answered. Last week I got to check quite a few.

As I made my marks, I was reminded that they often go down for what Garth Brooks called, "unanswered prayers." How humbling and important for me to remember that things do not always turn out the way I planned. I don't get exactly what I asked for . . . but I get something. God is listening, God is working. I don't always understand or like the answer, but when I make the mark, I can see the full circle of events:

Problem arose, people prayed, God answered.

That is amazing, and so today I just want to pause and say, "Thank you."

  1. I want to say "thank you" to God for setting my goddaughter on a healthy path -- so many of her health issues are working out for good. I'm so thankful for the SDG community and the blessings that these women speak over each other every single week. I'm so thankful for the ways the He draws near to us when we call, and even when we don't.

And thank you, sweet friend, for reminding me to say those words.

  2. Dear Caroline, I love how you go back to check off your prayers, answered or unanswered, God is good... and all the time! I want to be like Job, praising God, thanking God, serving Him well and standing firm in faith regardless of external situations. Pausing with you on this day to say "Thank you" God, for everything. Keep growing and glowing for God! God bless. With love and care from Kerrie. xOx

  3. I am still waiting on the answers to some prayers, but am so thankful to know that God is working in my life, and I see it day by day. This post was a great reminder to be grateful, even for unanswered prayers.
Found you through Finding Heavens SDG sisterhood. :)

  4. God has been answering some major prayers of mine lately. No, things haven't turned out as I've expected, but I know he is there. I know he is listening.

  5. God has answered some prayers, but some prayers I'm still waiting for. Sometimes it's a matter of waiting as our time is not His time and our ways are not His ways.

  6. Thank you...such humbling words. Words that are easy to say but not easy to mean.

But thank you I do say for the women of this community that Jen has created. I have been able to meet so many extraordinary ladies that walk the walk and talk the talk :)

  7. My husband and I love that song - we are both on our second marriages and we had prayed fervently that they would be redeemed. When they were not, we were devastated and now we are SO thankful for those unanswered prayers.

It may not always be what we were seeking but His plan always far surpasses our own.

I really like your prayer journal idea. What a blessing to look back at all those check marks? I'm going to be trying this out, thanks for sharing this!

Hope you're having a great week!
