Weekend Word

Friday, February 25, 2011

{Welcome to the weekend! I've chosen a word from my Bible's concordance, and am sharing a few of the related verses. I hope you will consider theses verses over the weekend, and perhaps spend time in the Word finding others. If you don't have a Bible handy, here is a great online version. Till Monday. . .}

Patience

A man's wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense. Proverbs 19:11

The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride. Ecclesiastes 7:8

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners - of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life. I Timothy 1:15-16

  1. Patience, isn't this one of those things we don't pray for because then we will be tested to NO END? ha!Have a great weekend.

  2. I like that word. I'm weird like that but it's a good word that may be bitter at the onset but sweet and way worth it...my favorite verse about patience is: "But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." James 1:4
