Hello, Monday After Mother's Day . . .

Monday, May 9, 2011

. . . you are kind of a bummer. Yesterday was all, "No, no, let me do that for you, Mommy," and now it is back to reality. Still, here are three reasons to smile today:

(1) Today is Hubby's birthday. He is the best. Happy Birthday!!

(2) Stingrays smile.

Surely you can.

(3) I've got a great idea for how you can use all that free time/me time your family promised you yesterday. I wrote about it at Newby Mom:

Do you remember the day you became a mom? I bet that it was a day filled with happy tears, congratulations, and hugs. I bet there was also a private moment when you started to feel the weight of those three little letters now attached to you. You became a mom. A Mom! Moms used to be so much older than you. They drove carpool, made snacks and wore questionable jeans. Suddenly, you were one of them, forever. Maybe in your private moment you started asking, “What just happened?”

Keep smiling, and click here to read the rest.

Happy Monday!

  1. Has motherhood changed me? Oh, only about 2000 times over. Probably all for the good, even though it brought out some "issues" that I never thought I had. But, if they hadn't been brought to the light, I'm sure I'd be all the worse off!

  3. Yes, indeed, the Monday after Mother's Day is a bummer. Where is my already brewed coffee? Ah, alas, I must wait until next year. Clicking over now.

  4. What a great article. I wish that someone had written that for me 8 years ago. All I heard was that things will be different. Not how different they would be. The part that I miss is being able to read a novel in a day with out any interruptions. However, now I get to read to my kids and pass on to them a love of reading and great literature.

  5. Motherhood made me a much better person. Took me from pretty much uptight to relaxed and peaceful -- although there were days that were anything but peaceful! Now my youngest graduates Saturday and I'm wondering where did the years go!
