Weekend Word: Flower

Friday, May 20, 2011

{Welcome to the weekend! I've chosen a word from my Bible's concordance, and am sharing a few of the related verses. I hope you will consider theses verses over the weekend, and perhaps spend time in the Word finding others. If you don't have a Bible handy, here is a great online version. Till Monday. . .}

Flower

As for man, his days are like grass, he flourishes like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children. Psalm 103:15-17

The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever. Isaiah 40:8

The brother in humble circumstances out to take pride in his high position. But the one who is rich should take pride in his low position, because he will pass away like a wild flower. For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will fade away even while he goes about his business. James 1:9-11

  1.  Courtney,
    I like the visual of flowers being beautiful, but temporary. . .much like our lives. Doesn't it just help put things into perspective?
