Weekend Word: Sun

Friday, May 27, 2011

I hope you have enjoyed this week of summer prep. Psalm 19 really jumped out at me. The more I read it, the richer it becomes. It makes me stop and stare in wonder.

Like my child does, at a rock.

Maybe that is the point.

Till Monday . . .

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless. Psalm 84:11

The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Isaiah 60:19

But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall. Malachi 4:2

(Jesus said) But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. Matthew 5:44-45

In your anger do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. Ephesians 4:26-27

  4. I love the sun... and we have had a long string of hot sunny days here.  Now as we enter the rainy season I know there will be days where I might not see it... but I know it will still be there.  Just as He is always there!
