Weekend Word: Simple (and a winner!)

Before we get to the weekend, the winner of the $20 DaySpring coupon code is:

~ Nancy ~

Congratulations! Email me and I will give you the code. Happy shopping!

I inadvertently came up with a theme word this week - Simple. I made a simple list on Tuesday, featured a simple treat on Wednesday, and wrote about keeping supper (and appearances) simple on Thursday. So, here is what the NIV Bible has to say about simple; not exactly the same context, but worth reading nonetheless.

{Welcome to the weekend! I've chosen a word from my Bible's concordance, and am sharing a few of the related verses. I hope you will consider theses verses over the weekend, and perhaps spend time in the Word finding others. If you don't have a Bible handy, here is a great online version. Till Monday. . .}

(My dad and Little Guy at the beach last weekend ~ what a great big, beautiful world.)

The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. Psalm 19:7

The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. Psalm 119:130

You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, gain understanding. Proverbs 8:5

A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thought to his steps. Proverbs 14:15
