Nap Time Wishes

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

I'm writing this in mourning, since nap time seems to be ending at our house.

Top Ten Things I Wish I'd Done More During Nap Time:

(1) Slept! By myself or with a warm little one.

(2) Sat on the couch and starred into space.

(3) Read something, without cartoon illustrations.

(4) Eaten whatever I wanted, without having to fend off beggars.

(5) Talked on the phone, uninterrupted.

(6) Exercised.

(7) My nails.

(8) Learned how to craft, since that fills part of the afternoon void now.

(9) Cleaned off my desk, at least once.

(10) Enjoyed it. It doesn't last long.

The boys playing with a cousin during a recent no-napping afternoon. Too bad she isn't here to entertain them everyday!

What did I do during nap time? A little of the above, but mostly work and laundry. Work was necessary, but the laundry .... I could have let that go. What about you? What do you do during nap time, and what should you be doing?

LOL! I wish I would sleep too, but it always seems I should be doing something else! And fend off beggars...funny!

  2. I do a little of all of that during nap time....when non nappers are home, quiet time is enforced for at least 1 hour too.

  4. This post really prompted me to think back, too.  I positively, definitely, absolutely agree with your #1.  I found myself trying to get EVERYTHING done around the house while my son slept.  You can imagine, to my surprise, he quit napping around 15 months.  If he napped, he would stay up until way after midnight.  We then transitioned to "rest time".  You don't HAVE to sleep, but you do have to lay down.
    Thank your sharing!
    Have a blessed evening...
