The Newby Mom Volunteers

Thursday, December 8, 2011

Have you ever tried to do good, but walked away feeling depleted? Have you been frustrated by volunteer work or struggled to find your place in the world of "helping others"?

I have.

I wrote about that, and how I finally found my calling, over at Newby Mom. I'd love it if you visited.

Thank you :)

  1. Great article Courtney!  Just what I needed, especially in this time of year where there are so many opportunities to help.  I have felt overwhelmed and depleted lately.  Love your suggestions!!!

  2. nice article...i volunteer often but find myself now in a place that i dont find what i am doing very fulfilling and once more finding my place...

  3. Thanks, Brian. So glad you stopped by. I hope you can find the right spot again. I think that it is important to move on when it just doesn't work. Best wishes to you!

  4. Hi Jayda - Thank you! I'm so glad I'm not the only one who ever feels this way :) Been thinking of you!

  5. Courtney, that was such a good article. I especially liked your statement of keeping your heart soft and eyes open. Lindsey shared with me recently said something like this...
"Sometimes we sign up for volunteer activities with a good purpose in mind but is it really where God is calling us to be?"
And I think your how many times Florence Crittenton kept crossing your path as one way God shows us where he wants us to be.

  6. "keep your heart soft and your eyes open." love this courtney. beautiful.
