How to Love: God

Friday, February 17, 2012

I think it is as simple as this:

Love your kids.
Love your spouse.
Love yourself.
Love others.

Love.

We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother. 1 John 4:19 - 21

  1. Courtney,
It is simple. So why then do we make it so hard?

  2. That is the question, Amy. I don't know. I think it has something to do with how hard it is for us to accept God's grace. We are stingy with giving and receiving love (and grace) because we don't like to be open and vulnerable. I think that is part of it, anyway. Thanks for stopping by.

  3. It was supposed to be simple.  It is hard because we wanted to know the difference between evil and good.  Now we do, and yikes!

  4. If it were this simple then maybe truly loving is what isn't easy.
