Airplane Water Bottle

A water bottle is my blankie. It is my lovey. It is my security object.

I prefer to have a water bottle with me most of the time, and my children tell me they are thirsty every 36 seconds. Water settles my tummy, it quenches our thirst, and it is an all-around necessary thing for us. I pretty much bring water everywhere, except the airport. There's that pesky .00002 ounces carry-on rule, and the notion that we are not allowed to carry any liquids from Point A to Point B.

I also don't like paying $3.99 for a 12 oz. bottle of water.

My solution?

(I had to do something to snazz-up this picture, and the matting just cracked me up.)

When we flew last week, I put that puppy in my purse and refilled it at water fountains in four different airports. We didn't have to wait for tiny cups of water on the plane, and I didn't get that nervous, "I need a drink of water," feeling. It also came in handy when we were walking all over Austin. I washed it and used it every day we were there.

It was simple, it was frugal, and it was green.

It works for me!

Do you have any tips for traveling with a bit of comfort?

  1. I've done that too - it works well.

  2. OH MY GOSH - Courtney I am the same exact way. I seriously have issues if I don't have mine with me at all times. And the only reason I didn't have mine on the walk this morning was b/c I had the kids two sippy cups and decided I could do without for 30 minutes. Crazy you are the same way!!! Love, Jess
