May was hectic. My goal of exercising three times a week circled the drain as Tuesday mornings were taken away from me with class parties, end of year picnics, and now, summer. Exercise has clung to the side of the drain with long walks, but just barely. A rescue is in order.
Guilt got the best of me on Sunday night, when my neighbor and I resumed our monthly babysitting swap. She came over to watch the boys while Hubby and I got the chance to have a real date. We started with a walk on the bridge.
I don't think we had exercised together in . . . years. It was great. What an opportunity to talk, and catch up on the recent lightening-fast weeks. When we got to the top of the bridge we stopped and watched this ship come in:
We talked some more, and then Hubby took my phone and got all artistic.

Now, it's your turn. If you are working towards a goal, how is it going? Have you indulged in any way, shape, or form in the last month? Tell us about it. You just might inspire the weekend plans of the stressed-out, over-worked, neglected woman who clicks over next.
{This is a place to share a goal you are working on, and one (or two or three) ways you have treated yourself - indulged - along the way. I'm not talking about sabotaging your goals; I'm talking about taking care of yourself. It's a good thing.}

Great job- sounds like fun with the neighbor! I am participating in the 3 in 30 (Ashley Pichea) it's helping me reach a few simple goals each month!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful way to "ruin a walk." Loved that. ... My goal? To make some progress on book chapters. I've got a deadline looming, and it's so hard to get writing done with the girls home from school. I want to play, and swim, and feed the baby calves, and .... We've got a summer full of fun things, and my goal is to carve out time on the fringe hours of the day to get the words on paper.
ReplyDeleteI want to feed baby calves! That sounds delightful :) I hope you found some fringe hours to write this weekend. We are always rewarded when you do.
ReplyDelete"A few simple goals each month" - that is the way to do it. Slow and steady!
