Day 1, Experiment's the Word

The most important thing you should know about my foray into the world of 31 Days is: THIS IS AN EXPERIMENT. (I don't mean to shout; I just want you to remember that when it looks like I don't know what I'm doing.) This project is an experiment on two levels. First, I will attempt to blog off-the-cuff, everyday. Nothing is written in advance or edited to death. That is not my preference, and it frightens me a bit. It is sooooo experimental for me. (Live a little, I know!)

Second, I will be incorporating 5 new habits into my life, and I am going to tell you all about it. I may fail fantastically. Again, not my preference. I prefer to keep failures private, thankyouverymuch. But, I have found that when other people are real, I learn a lot. I am going to try to be brave and honest. My hope is that during these 31 days, we all have something to share about making the most of our moments. I want my time alone, my time with God, my time with my kids, and my time with my husband, to count. I don't want it to feel like it often does, distracted and frazzled. I want to do a better job of focusing on what is in front of me. I want quality time.
There are a million ways to approach this. I will go about it as follows: I will spend six days focusing on one new habit, building up to five new habits by the end of the month. I will reveal the first new habit tomorrow. So please come back then, let me know what you think, and if you will be joining me on the quest for quality time.

I really hope you will. See you soon!
