4 Cats Art Studio, Splatter Paint Fun (and a Giveaway!)

Wednesday, November 7, 2012

We have! 4 Cats Arts Studio in Mt. Pleasant invited the boys and I to a blogger splatter paint party a few days ago, and we were happy to attend. Local + splatter paint = Big fun.
The studio is a bright and colorful space in Towne Center, where messes are encouraged. I had to seriously check my Mom-nerves at the door, relax, and simply enjoy. It wasn't hard to do, because our host, Morgan was so fun and the boys loved every moment.
We did not wear "paint clothes," (oops!) but smocks helped and (believe it or not) all the paint came out in the wash. The boys picked our paint colors and we worked on our canvas together.
We laughed quite a bit, and it was a great bonding experience for this mother and her sons. I had no idea what to expect from a splatter paint canvas, but I liked it so much that when Morgan asked if we would like her to stretch and frame it for us, I said yes. $30 later, we had this:
I decided to hang in the boys' bathroom - which I happen to share with them for makeup and hair purposes. It is a fun reminder of our good time together, and a unique addition to our shared space.

  1. The shop til you drop event sounds great... and also a splatter paint class though I could not find that one on the website. What a fun idea! My boys would love it!

  2. A blogger, splat paint party? I want in. How fun is this? Get dirty and create art. Very fun.

  3. Oooh, the Gustav Klimt workshop sounds fabulous!! Although I'd also love to create a masterpiece with my children like you did, how neat?!?!

  4. How cool! Perfect for my boys who don't know how to stay in the lines!! The family nights look really cool too...the family sculpture would be fun to do together. Thanks for sharing, had no idea they were there!
