The Gift

I'm so honored to be over at my friend Jen's place, Finding Heaven Today, for the series, Close Enough to Forget. She asked me to write about forgetting the kids . . . which seems odd since I just spent the last two months planning a huge Christmas Day for them. But then, that's not what she meant. I knew that, but I struggled to find the right words. Then one night, it hit me. Click here to read my piece.

I'll leave you with a gift from my oldest. He surprised us by wrapping Lego creations in construction paper and masking tape and hiding them under the tree. This one he allowed me to share. Merry Christmas.

  1. This made me tear up Courtney, these moments make one stop in their tracks just for a minute, as if God was giving you a little finger in the shoulder saying, "hello, did you forget?" Thank God for these moments to set up straight. (smile)

  2. Marlece - Thank you for taking the time to come back here and comment. It was just like you said - a little finger in the shoulder. I need one everyday :) Merry Christmas to you and yours.

  3. The Lego presents are so sweet (and nicely built!) and the gesture says a lot about your son. The true spirit of giving. The post at Finding Heaven is phenomenal.

    1. Thank you, Angie. Your words mean a lot to me. Looking forward to many good and wise words over at your place in 2013!
