Water in My Life

Monday, March 18, 2013

My life has been full of water, lately.
We passed these out to children at church and preschool, and now they are bringing them back full of change. We'll start counting it tomorrow. Last year, it added up to $3,400.

Meanwhile, the kids are learning about clean water and why it's important. They learned that some kids don't have it. They asked, why? and how?
I'm still asking and learning, too.

We're doing all this to get ready for the Walk for Water on Saturday, March 23rd. It raises money for Water Missions International so they can put their water filtration systems
in places like this.
For smiles like that.

Would you like to help?
(1) Join us on Saturday. Click here to register, or just show up. It will be fun. And powerful.
(2) Pray. Pray for all of us walking. Pray for the volunteers who make this event happen, and for those who build the water systems, fly them around the world, and install them. Pray for the mama-volunteers in my group who've been making posters, toting heavy change, sitting at fundraising tables, and just generally being awesome.
(3) Tell God, Thanks. Thanks for plumbing, thanks for the complete nourishment of water, thanks for the miracle of H2O, thanks for Living Water, and thank you for abundant grace.

  1. Such a great idea (filling water bottles with change). I was marveling again this morning how easy it is to take safe water for granted - that we don't have to dig for it or drink water from the same places where animals do their thing.
